The Story of the Ropheka Connection
Overview
The ROPHEKA Connection was founded in 2014 by Tim Reed who had a passion to reach offenders at the prison where he worked for many years. Our non-profit status was established in 2018.
The word “ROPHEKA” is found to be of Hebrew origin and was used as a hyphenated descriptive after YHWH, as in YHWH-Rophi-God Our Healer- Ropheka, “the Eternal Who Heals.”
It is the heart of Father God, creator of heaven and earth, to heal the hearts of people. For He is the only one that can truly bring healing, restoration, and transformation.
“For I am the Lord that heals you.” Exodus 15:26
New Beginnings
“To see what God can do when you sit and listen to Holy Spirit speak is an amazing opportunity to partner with the God of the universe. I have been an intercessor for many years now and I have seen the hand of God move in ways that no man could make happen. Doors of opportunity have come our way that has done nothing but glorify God and usher in the Kingdom of heaven to earth.
As I walked out my years of service at an Ohio prison, I was able to see God move in some mighty ways. As I stepped into a room full of offenders to offer them nothing more than the reality of the true presence of God, I thought to myself, “This is it!”
"There were 70 men that God touched in a miraculous way as we gathered together each week to sit and wait upon the Lord, the one true God who makes covenant with us. But as time went on, I heard the Father speak to me that I was to STOP what I was doing with those offenders. This made no sense to the natural mind at all, considering that this was a true move of God in the prison!
Some of these men were experiencing what it was like to be in the presence of God for the first time, THE creator of all things! Who was I to tell these men that this had to end?
“I had to listen to my Father’s voice.”
As I listened and obeyed, His direction became consistently clear. Once I chose to let this God experience go, it was at that point that I heard Him say that He had another plan. A plan much larger than me."
Embracing a Model
We began a partnership with LaRed.Org and use their program, The Foundation for Achievement. Using their model, we started the roundtables, an outcome of this time of obedience. We introduced it to the general population where I worked and saw great results. It was amazing to see how introducing these 40 life giving principles began to transform the lives of these men. This program would train them to BE the influence behind prison doors.
